Except for four items, the figures in the Colony Accounts in respect of the Assets and Liabilities taken over from the Hong Kong London Accounts Office, (paragraph 8 (1) above), agree with those shown in the Balance Sheet of that
Office at the 30t of April 1946. The asset "Investments Nickel Coinage £103,202. 3. 8* (* 1,651,234.93) and the corresponding liability, "Funds - Nickel Coinage Security £103,202. 3. 8", appearing in the Hong Kong London Accounts Office Balance Sheet, have each been incorporated in the Accountant General's books at an amount of $1,651,144.27, and
the Director of Audit is in communication with the Accountant
General about the small discrepancy of 90.66 between the two sets of figures. The asset "Investments Hong Kong Exchange Fund £17,231,892. 6. 7", and the liability "Funds Hong Kong Exchange Fund £17,231,892. 6. 7", also appearing in the Hong Kong London Accounts Office Balance Sheet, have not been incorporated in the Accountant General's books, since records separate from those of the Accountant General are now kept in
Hong Kong by the Accountant to the Exchange Fund.
10. No journal vouchers have been seen covering the
incorporation in the Colony accounts of the assets and
liabilities taken over from the British Military Administration (paragraph 8 (ii) above), but they appear to comprise the assets "Investments on Account of Note Security Fund 875,000" and "Investments on Account of Subsidiary Note Security Fund
★ 500,000*, and the liabilities "Deposits / 2,636,066.57",
